Since Timisoara, Romania's third largest city and the capital of the historic Banat region was awarded the honour of being the European Capital of Culture 2023, it has been present in many media. The Banat metropolis with its very own charm expects a large rush of visitors this year, who want to get to know the history and sights of the city.

We were born in Timisoara, spent our childhood there and also attended school there. We completed our studies in Germany and now both have our lives in Germany. Nevertheless, we always like to return to our birthplace, for professional as well as for private reasons.

Because of our background, during the tour we can therefore provide and combine an outsider’s view with a special insider perspective from our childhood and family traditions.

The city tour is aimed at first time visitors to the city who want to get an overview of the main sights. The tour is also ideal for Timisoara residents who have not lived in the city for long. It will also be of interest to former Timisoara residents who have emigrated, and now wish to visit their city of origin again during this special occasion of the Capital of Culture year and get to know it even better. Whatever the reason, we hope you will find our tour enjoyable and informative.

The tour leads to the most important sights of the former fortress and today's city centre, but also offers insight into other districts via stops in the suburbs of Josefstadt and Elisabethstadt.

Given the multicultural tradition of Timisoara, the city tour is offered in the languages of its inhabitants: Romanian, German and Hungarian, as well as in English for international visitors. With a song in our heart and happy feet, let’s be on our way to Timisoara. Our most important goal is not only to accurately inform the users of the city tour, but also to “infect” them with our love and enthusiasm for Timisoara.
